(published in 2009) is a follow-up to the above book, and is published by Historic Scotland. It traces the development of pubs in Scotland over the past 200 years, explaining why they are different from elsewhere, as well as describing the architectural and design features of some of our best establishments. From the Tayside area, Frew's and The Clep get a mention. Expertly written, and with fine photographs.
